"Jola-Fonyi of Senegal and the Gambia (JOH-luh-FOH-nyee)"

Thank you for praying for the vision team from Illinois that ministered to the Jola people in Banjul, The Gambia. God answered your prayers more abundantly than the Jola-Fonyi Team ever imagined. Everyone stayed healthy and safe, and God guided them to people who wanted to hear His Word each and every day of the trip. They shared the “Creation to Christ” stories with approximately 70 people, and three men accepted Jesus as their Savior and asked to be baptized, which was done in the ocean on their last day in Banjul. Pray for S, D and A, asking that God will grow their faith and bless them as they meet together to pray and study the Bible. They want their families to see a difference in their lives, and to be curious to know what caused the change, so they will have an opportunity to share the Good News and tell them that they are now following Jesus. Pray for the next team from Illinois, which will arrive in February, as they disciple these men and as they continue to evangelize the Jola people living in Banjul. Please pray for wisdom as this U.S. church forms a strategy of how to win the Jola people in this urban setting.
